Ingredients:

½ kilo Pork chop

5 tbsp Calamansi or lemon juice

2 tsp Salt

2 tsp Garlic powder (or fresh minced garlic)

2 tsp Onion powder

1 tsp Pepper

1 tbsp Sugar (brown or white)

3 tbsp Ketchup

1 tbsp Soy sauce

1 tbsp Olive or vegetable oil

Potatoes (optional)

Carrots (optional)

Directions:

Step 1:

Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F) for 15 minutes.

Step 2:

In a bowl, combine salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper to create the seasoning mix. Set it aside. In a separate bowl, prepare the glaze by combining brown sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, and olive oil. Set both mixtures aside for later use.

Step 3:

Place the washed and pat-dried pork chops in a pan. Pour calamansi or lemon juice over them, massaging the meat thoroughly. Follow by massaging the seasoning mix into the pork. Apply the glaze mixture evenly onto the pork, reserving some for later use.

Step 4:

If desired, add carrots and potatoes to the pan. Sprinkle salt and pepper over them. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.

Step 5:

After 20-25 minutes, take the pork out of the oven, flip it to the other side, and brush the remaining glaze onto the meat and continue baking for an extra 20 minutes.

Step 6:

Once cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, garnish with fresh herbs or a squeeze of lemon for extra flavor.

Tips:

  • For a smoky flavor, consider grilling the pork chops instead of baking.

  • Experiment with different vegetables for a variety of textures and flavors.

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the pork is cooked to a safe internal temperature.

Serve & Enjoy! 💖
