INGREDIENTS:

  • ¼  cup  Light brown sugar

  • ⅛  cup  Butter or margarine

  • 1 can(374 grams)  Condensed milk

  • ½  cup  Evaporated milk

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1: Caramelization Magic

  • In a pot or pan over medium heat, sprinkle light brown sugar. Patiently wait for the sugar to caramelize, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.

Step 2: Butter Blend

  • Once the sugar has caramelized, add butter and wait for it to melt.

Step 3: Milky Fusion

  • Add the condensed milk into the pan, stirring continuously. Don't worry if it looks candy-like; keep stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved.

Step 4: Evaporated Elegance & Cooling Intermission

  • Add evaporated milk, vanilla essence, and salt to balance the taste.

  • Stir continuously until you reach your desired consistency.

Step 5: Chilled Perfection

  • Allow the hot mixture to cool slightly then transfer it into a container and refrigerate the mixture for about 2 hours to achieve a firmer consistency.

TIPS:

  • Stir constantly to avoid burning.

  • For a spreadable consistency, don’t let the mixture thicken too much; it should still be a bit watery as it thickens while cooling.

    • If this becomes too thick once it cools, you can gently add a little milk and stir until it reaches the desired consistency.

    • Conversely, if it becomes too thin, you can reheat it on low heat and stir until it thickens to your liking.

  • If using it for frosting, allow it to thicken according to your preference.

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Check for spoilage signs before use.

  • Experiment with flavored versions using vanilla, cinnamon, or rum.

  • Create a frosting by blending with cream cheese or butter.

  • Transfer into a decorative jar for a homemade gift.

  • Reheat gently to avoid burning.

Serve & Enjoy! 💖
