INGREDIENTS:
Lumpia wrapper
½ kilo Ground pork
2 pieces Onion (minced)
6 cloves Garlic (minced)
1 piece Carrot (minced)
1 piece Cabbage (minced)
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Ground black pepper
1 piece Egg
2 tablespoons Oyster sauce
1 teaspoon Sesame oil (optional)
Mozzarella and parmesan cheese (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1: Prepare the Wrappers
Gently separate each lumpia wrapper to prevent sticking and set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Ingredients
Mince the garlic, onion, carrot, and cabbage. Set these aside in separate bowls.
Step 3: Combine Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine ground pork, onion, garlic, carrot, cabbage, salt, black pepper, egg, and sesame oil, oyster sauce.
Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Step 4: Taste Test
Fry a small amount of the mixture to check for seasoning. Adjust salt and pepper if needed.
Step 5: Assemble the Lumpia
Transfer the filling into a piping bag and cut the end to your preferred size.
Pipe an appropriate amount of filling onto the lumpia wrapper, positioning it near one corner.
Fold both sides of the wrapper inward.
Brush the edge of the wrapper with a beaten egg or water mixture to seal.
Roll tightly until fully wrapped. Repeat with the remaining filling and wrappers.
Step 6: Fry the Lumpia
Heat oil in a deep pot over medium heat.
Once the oil is hot, carefully add the lumpia in batches.
Deep fry for 7-10 minutes or until they float and turn golden brown.
Step 6: Drain and Serve
Remove the lumpia from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Cut each lumpia in half or serve whole with your favorite dipping sauce.
TIPS:
Filling Variations: You can add other vegetables like bell peppers or green beans for added texture and flavor.
Freezing Option: Uncooked lumpia can be frozen. Lay them flat on a tray, freeze until solid, then transfer to a freezer bag. Fry directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
Dipping Sauce: Serve with sweet chili sauce, vinegar with minced garlic, or a soy sauce and calamansi mixture.
